Wishing you a grace-filled Lent

Dear people of God,

Peace of the Lord.

Loving greetings from Bishop Jude. We are entering into the Lenten Season this month. As we all know Jesus came to announce the Kingdom of God and invite us all to repent and convert ourselves to enter there one day.

Now in order to receive Jesus and his love, we need to empty ourselves. For all of us have something or other that keep us away from him. We are possessed with holding on what we have such as unwanted desires, unhealthy attitudes, worldly attachments, hurting mentality, egotism, etc.

St. Augustine says: “God is always trying to give good things to us, but our hands are too full to receive them.” Like the poor widow in Luke 21:1-4 and the persons in Mathew 13:44-46, we need to give up all the above-said in order to be possessed by God.

There is a dictum that says, “What I am is God’s gift to me and what I become is my gift to God.” Let us pray through our Blessed Mother Mary that like her we surrender everything to become wonderful gifts to our God through true conversion of mind and heart.

Wishing you a grace-filled Lent

Yours in Jesus,
