About Parish

Nettur was a substation of Uthumalai. It was very backward area. Christian in Nettur belongs to Dalit community. They are economically poor. Socially suppressed politically weak. But very strong in faith. In spites of hardship they have give up their faith. Day by day they grow in spiritual life. As people grow in big number, for the spiritual well being of catholic it was erected on separate parish and was entrusted very eagerly took charge of the taluk. The Salesian presence in Nettur began on 8th June 2002. There are various pious associations such as: Self-help groups for women, Puthu Vazhu Group, Don Bosco Youth Groups, Soldiers of Christ, Holy Childhood, Samugha Sevai Sangam and Altar Boys and Girls Association. The Anbiyams and the Parish Pastoral Counsil are also functioning. There are two R.C. Primary Schools under the Parish Jurisdiction, one at Seethaikurichi and the other at Nettur. The Parish Priest is the Correspondent of both schools.
